When I first looked at the thumbnail I thought it was a macabre collection of skulls, so I was pleased to see it was nothing more menacing than good old brussel sprouts. We are that used to seeing them loose and not on the stalks.

Cabbages, and particularly Brussel cabbages, always looked strange to me, like aliens, and these in your photo even more. I think it is because you put it horizontally, avoiding its usual looking and thus its natural reference. endika
