Coyotes are formidable in the field where they enjoy keen vision and a strong sense of smell. They can run up to 40 miles (64 kilometers) an hour. The coytes adaptability and cunning is well documented, for example in order to not get attacked by predators they will often walk on their toes to make as little noise as possible. In the fall and winter, they form packs for more effective hunting. ~ National Geographic
