The comet in the constellation Leo on Oct. 8. Earlier predictions thought it might be magnitude 10.5 by this date, but it is closer to magnitude 13.5 in this photo. The star closest to the comet is magnitude 12.7. Taken from my back yard in suburban Milwaukee with a Celestron 9.25, guided with a Questar 3.5 and taken with a Nikon D700 at prime focus and ISO 1250. This is a stack of four frames of 75 seconds each. The field of view is about 1/3 of a degree.
