I read an incredibly funny story today in the local newspaper: a woman went to the vet to have her cat chipped, however the cat did very much disagree and struggled and fought as much as he could. The result: the chip ended up in the woman's hand... She couldn't stop laughing for an hour, the vet was less amused. At the hospital the doctors decided to remove the chip, because the effects of it on a human are unknown. Makes you wonder what it does to a cat then.
