HYDROCARBON INCLUSIONS IN QUARTZ

"Herkimer type" quartz crystal containing hydrocarbon inclusions with gas phase bubbles ( water vapour, methane or carbon dioxide) from Wadh, Khuzdar District, Balochistan (Baluchistan), Pakistan.

The close-up photo shows a negative quartz crystal as inclusion. This is filled with hydrocarbon and a gas phase .

The negative crystal is approx. 3 x 2,3 mm. Diameter of the bubble 0,6 mm.
