Pocket watches are worn with a chain in a waistcoat pocket. But being waistcoatless and chainless, I made a short lanyard from paracord. Buying 30' of the stuff meant I had enough left over for lanyards for a couple of whistles, one for LM's reading glasses, a padded section for a bag strap and a couple of other things. Useful stuff paracord.
