#22

I am fascinated by old abandoned houses, always wondering what stories the walls could tell about the lives lived there.
In this case, I remember visiting this cottage as a child, remember it filled with warmth and laughter.
It's sad to see it empty and decaying, as nature takes over.

everything is there in your photo, nostalgia, the working of nature and some autumn signs

I too like abandoned buildings and always wonder what the rest of the story is. Some buildings self destruct more gracefully than others. V

I'm the same with old cemeteries, but what a pity to see this disappearing from view.

I often wonder about people that I see driving on the road... Who are they, Where do they come from and where are they going?
Lovely capture of this hidden home! :)

When I see an abandonded house, I always think, there must be some broken dreams behind. Nevertheless a beautiful find. v

Oh wow, that's a LOT of nature taking over. Soon you will never tell there was a cottage there at all. Amazing. And I like Mary's comment about the fire and the spirit.

Nature seems to be claiming it quickly too. A lovely capture and I like the touch of fall color. V.

Melancholy, but I fear it has always been so.
Piercingly sad when the fire goes out, and the spirit of the old house goes out with it.
