Just before taking this picture I descended the ramp at center, just to the right of the band of vegetation. Although it looks steep, the walking was easy. I took this picture during an exploratory cross-country hike to the catwalk that joins Steer Mesa with Big Horn mesa. This catwalk is west of .Upheaval Dome. The hike was 98% walking and 2% scrambling.
