I meant to get some early morning shots of the lighthouse on this morning but the light had already been turned off. I therefore turned my attention to the harbour itself but the results afforded by the backup 28-135 left a great deal to be desired. (In fairness that was partly lens, partly light.) I knew that I needed to do something about getting a proper lens, but the choices were annoyingly many with too many pros and cons to weigh, with the main con being cash. Not that I can't afford a new lens (although that 24-70 f/2.8 is a tad wallet stretching were I to go that route) but it's a cost that I could well do without.
However it did do a few good shots, particularly around sunrise. This, I think, was one of its better ones. I had to play around with the exposure settings quite a bit to get this but that would have been true of any lens.
That's a little fishing boat puttering off to do a day's catch on the right. The two cargo ships would be waiting their turn at Port Kembla, a bit to the south of here.
