#15 'things about me'

I like to cook from scratch.

20# of garden tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped.
Simmered for 3 hours with chopped homegrown onions and garlic sautéed in olive oil.
Thickened and reduced by one half.
Fresh chopped basil, parsley and oregano from the herb garden added at the end.
Five pints for the freezer.

Good on you - I've gone off cooking. I still do cook, but since my husband died last year I really don't want to do too much cooking now

Peeling and seeding is a lot of work for 20 # of your delicious tomatoes, why do you peel and seed them, you could use a blender? I like the herbs, but where is the butter and the olive oil?

It looks wonderful! Too bad I can't smell it from this far away. Freezing seems a whole lot simpler than canning the sauce. That would definitely be my choice.
