My recumbent trike stands on the Snoqualmie Valley Trail in central North Bend, Washington. The Snoqualmie Valley Trail is the former corridor of a branch line of The Milwaukee Road. This is about 25 miles east-southeast of Seattle along I-90. The mountain in the background is Mt. Si.
Mt. Si appeared in the opening scene of the TV show “Twin Peaks.” That scene had a country road and a “Welcome to Twin Peaks” sign. Most of the exterior shots for the first season of "Twin Peaks" were shot in and around North Bend.
A hiking trail leads almost to Mt. Si’s summit and a short scrambling route leads to the very top. Great views from up there. The Mt. Si Trail used to be and perhaps still is, the most-often-used trail in Washington.
My Nikon D80 is visible just in front of the ribbon flags. It's mounted via a RAM mount on the end of a board that was strapped to the frame of the trike's seat. As I cycled, I tripped the shutter with my infrared remote transmitter. Several D80 shots were blurry because of the vibration transmitted to the camera from the trike.
Photographed with my iPhone.
