September 9

Sugar Land, Texas

Being the eldest daughter, I inherited the china and kitsch and heirlooms that resided in my mother's china cabinet.
I don't use these items, I'm half afraid to and I prefer heavier mugs for my tea and coffee.

#9 for the ALL ABOUT ME challenge for September.

Perfect for delicate! Love composition and inviting light. The pattern looks very familiar. Excellent!!!

Well, you can always take pictures of the china (while drinking from your mug).
Very nicely lit.

Beautiful and delicate china, I think you might use it sometimes, just for the pleasure of a special cup of tea.
Wonderful capture with perfect light. V.

Don't be afraid to occasionally use it. Your mother loved it and would be pleased that you are enjoying it. Hope you have a tea party soon!

This is beautiful. These vintage cups have become very fashionable although I keep mine safely in a display case unless I want to photograph them!

I always worry about chipping these, they're so fragile!!

How wonderful - you sure have to wash it by hand...

I have a similar set passed down from my father's mother. Lovely.

Perfect choice for "delicate!" For sure I wouldn't actually use it either.

So beautiful. I use my mother's demitasse cups and tea cups. Nothing nicer than a fine china.
Carol Rollins10-Sep-2013 14:01
This is lovely, Lynn. My Mom passed her set on to my sister and I, and all of them have
now gone to my sister's eldest daughter to cherish and enjoy.

I have a collection of tea cups and I always think tea tastes better served in a delicate tea cup. Each time I use it, I think of my mother and the good times we had at the table sharing tea and something sweet to eat.
Yvonne10-Sep-2013 11:40
Its a very pretty cup, but like you, it would stay in the cupboard! v

looks like country rose

Tea (must be psychological!) tastes wonderful from a china cup but I too prefer a mug.
I have a similar set which is never used.

I like the patches of light on this; for some reason the alternating light and shade on a teacup is what I'd associate with an old style tea room.
