The process is a variety of marbling practiced in Turkey as Ebru
and in Japan as Suminagashi. Colors are floated on a tray of water,
shaped by their initial application, or stirred and prodded with wires
or sticks. Brushes may be used to charge a new color into an existing
one which disperses the orginal to create rings and shapes.
