Planthopper (Acanalonia)

These are fairly large insects, for a planthopper, at about 10mm. I love their shape and colour, and as you can imagine, they blend in well with the green vegetation on which they sit. They also come in a vivid pink form and I am ever hopeful of seeing that colour version! Photographed at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden.

I'm with Jim and hayl. Another insect that's not on my life list!

A beautiful sharp macro image Christine. They sure blend in well with the green leaves.

I think these little hoppers are my favorite bugs. Until I started looking at your galleries, I didn't even know what they were. This is a really cute little one. V.
