The Plano etched brass hatch mades this sooo much easier! I didn't bother to completely remove Athearn's cast-on hatch... rather I just carved off the fans, and sanded the hatch smooth. I then attached the Plano piece (which fits perfectly) using Barge contact cement and MEK. Once it set, I decided to try using the Barge to hold the fans on as well. I don't trust CA in these situations...
