Rifugio Fredarola is only a thirty minute walk from the pass and just as we arrived it started to rain. We ducked in to get a hot drink and wait out the rain. We confirmed they had rooms there and considered our options for lodging for the night. The guide book had good things to say about Rifugio Viel del Pan, so we decided to walk there and see if they had space.
