Red-necked cane borer (Agrilus ruficollis)

I've been seeing lots of little Buprestid beetles this year, almost all of them in the large genus Agrilus. These small ones (about 6 mm) were found near Mer Bleue. Their larvae apparently produce galls on raspberry canes, and there are abundant wild raspberries in the general vicinity.

They do look tiny in relationship to the leaf. Great light and detail. V.
