A Friesen horse ... to think they were close to extinction! They were used extensively during the Knights period as well as several other wars after that. The knights, due to their heavy armors and the subsequent wars, needed a tall and very strong horse, thus they used the Friesen horses ... thankfully, that breed is back in good standing ... they are surely the most magnificent breed to my eye ... strong, docile, intelligent and amazingly beautiful.
