This will be one of my Fair entries. Besides the B&W conversion, I really didn't do much post-processing of this picture. Mostly I tried to even out the contrast across the image between foreground and background (including sky and clouds) while retaining some of the depth of the blacks in the mountain peaks. I took a look at increasing the "structure" of the image but didn't like the appearance. I posted an earlier version of this image, in color, but as I wanted to enter another color image in "landscape" category, and our fair's entry rules don't allow more than one entry in a given category, I decided to enter this in black-and-white. This was inspired by ideas from other DPF members as well as advice from our local camera club. The print I'm entering isn't as dark in the tree in the left-hand foreground as this image appears on my display.
