At the forcella another trail comes in from the west (starting in Colfosco) and a lot of hikers were on their way up. An advantage to staying in the rifugios is early starts and beating the crowds. When we were on our way down from Sassongher we encountered a lot of hikers and I'm glad we summitted before the crowds arrived.
