Sunflowers In Delta Ponds?

Someone had to plant these sunflowers in Delta Ponds. How they got out there I am not sure, not impossible but difficult. They do get one's attention. :)

Probably carried by a bird Vern but they certainly do look lovely in amongst the wildflowers.

Beautiful comp!
Stephanie05-Aug-2013 12:09
Maybe a bird or squirrel dropped or pooped out the seeds....
Beautiful scene Vern! :)

Beautiful colors and composition!

They look to be relatively small, which is a mercy. The ones in the fields around here are like nouvelle-cuisine dinner-plates.
Guest 05-Aug-2013 06:25

Almost like someone's garden. They really do add some pop to the setting.

A pretty scene with nice color
Steve Thuman05-Aug-2013 02:53
They look like Maximillian Sunflowers, a native species. Native in California anyway. Maybe one of your heron friends carried the seeds up there?
Jim Coffman05-Aug-2013 02:51
This is a lovely capture of nature.
Laura Milholland05-Aug-2013 02:44
And don't they make a wonderful splash of color! Lovely shot, Ver.
J Ponces05-Aug-2013 02:37
Yes, what an unusual location... Not natural, but still pretty!...
