Built from 1720-26,under the rein of King Frederick IV of Denmark. A peace treaty signed here between Sweden and Denmark on July 3, 1720 ended Denmark's participation in the Great Northern War. To commemorate that signing the Palace was named Fredens Borg ("Peace Castle"). Still used by current Royal Family.
