Swimming Venue, 6th Place

Minneapolis, MN

I was at the MN State Swim meet today where my grand daughter swam in 2 events. This was the venue - the U M Aquatic Center.
This is a 14 shot panorama with a mercator projection created in PT Gui. It has a fish eye like appearance (esp as the roof is a curved roof). My overall view from left to right is close to 180 deg.
This was taken during warmups, so there were a lot of swimmers in the pool.

I enjoy the way the perspective changes from the front of the pool to the back. Paul

Peter - yes, handheld. Each shot was 1/40 sec at f/8 using the "vibration controlled" lens. This was a bit tougher than usual, as I had people sitting on both sides of me, and I couldn't rotate about the camera as cleanly as I like to. I shot this particular scene 3 times.

Fabulous Jim! Handheld as you panned?

Thanks, K. I like these panos, as you can "zoom in" in the original shot to observe the detail. The full pano is a 750M file, fairly large.
With all the people in motion, there are a few places where I have the same person twice and one at a boundary where there is a bit of cutting off of a leg; but it isn't noticeable in such a large busy shot. I could probably fix it if I wanted to print this, but "not today".

This is really wide! Excellent execution and great feeling 'being there'
