#27 View of the top of the Auckland Harbour

July 2013 Challenge - Where I Live - North Shore of Auckland

The Waitemata Harbour separates Auckland City from the North Shore
The Waitemata Harbour is a drowned river valley, stretching from Riverhead in the north-west to Tamaki River in the east.
It has tidal flats and mangroves in the upper reaches to the west, and sandy bays with sandstone cliffs along the eastern shores.
Here we are at the furtherest north-west area - at The Riverhead, a 153 years old tavern.
It is New Zealand’s oldest riverside tavern, and they put on a very nice meals daily too

It's nice to see the bush down to the waters edge Janice. It may all be gone if Len Brown gets his way.
