Boss Hog

West Virginia

Submitted for the July Challenge - 31 Views of Where I Live.

I went to one of my favorite shooting spots out in the boonies and found this big boy had taken up residence. I didn't let him get too close to me although he didn't act aggressive at all.

Others can be seen here.

Also submitted for the Weekly Informal Challenge, "Friends."

Other entries can be seen here.

What a great shot of this little guy -- perhaps he longs to be someone's
pot-bellied pet!? Agree that he looks friendly -- no tusks to put you off.

Looks like he is staring at you seriously. V
LynnH27-Jul-2013 01:26
Not completely sure, but this looks more like a full grown potbelly pig, which might be why it wasn't aggressive with you. They get huge and then people take them out in the country and dump them off because they don't want to deal with them anymore. But good thing you were cautious. And you got a good 'portrait' of him. :) V

Homer Simpson's turn of phrase comes to mind. 'Mmm bacon.'

Nice pig. I got about this close to a wart hog near Lake Albert two summers ago. He suggested firmly that I should back away. I complied.
