Looking out of a moment in time that the community of Dallas would rather NOT be known for.
This photo was taken from the 7th floor of the Texas School Book Depository building. Looking down from the vantage point from which Lee Harvey Oswald took aim and fired three bullets at President John F Kennedy on 22 November, 1963. An "X" on the roadway marks where the president's car was when he was hit. (Photography is not allowed on the 6th floor from which the event took place. It is a museum, and much like the Alamo, a very solemn place.)
The trees in the foreground were much smaller then, and the Hyatt hotel in the background and the Reunion Tower were not there either. The large white building to the left in the background if the Federal Courthouse.
Dallas is about to remember the 50th anniversary of the event.
