I am assuming this Dunlin in non-breeding plumage is an early migrant beacuse (a) I've not seen any lingering birds for a few weeks and (b) it was on the ocean side in a "loafing" area where there were at least 100 calidris and Semipalmated Plovers in a mixed flock. "Local" birds tend to be on the bay side unless they are in large flocks and the bay shores and marshes are covered by high tides.
