the Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile
is probably the best known monument in Paris. It is 50 metres (164 ft.) high,
45 metres (148 ft.) wide and 22 metres (72 ft.) deep, big enough for Charles
Godefroy to fly his (Nieuport) biplane through it in 1919 (after World War 1).
