Weather Alert

As temperatures continued to soar, the Irish met office have issued a high temperature warning for Ireland, indicating that temperatures in excess of 27 degrees C will occur in places each day this week.
As one newspaper delightedly pointed out, it's hotter in Ireland than Lanzarote but unfortunately the good weather brings tragedy. Two people have drowned in separate incidents already this week and a young child is fighting for his life after getting into difficulties while swimming at a popular beach in the south of the country.
I am enjoying the fine weather, thankful that we have a/c in our office at work, and trying to make the most of it while I can. Hence, I'm afraid, I've been neglecting Pbase.

There are tragedies lurking in every season but right now I'm just enjoying this summer heat. It's a beautiful, sunny image you chose for today!

Gorgeous and your weather is similar to ours. The heat is on! V

Our average temp in June - August is 37C. We have A/C and also get acclimated. Heat is dangerous! Stay cool as much as you can.
Too bad about the drownings. We've had a half dozen drowning in June because of rip tides and foolish people who should not be swimming for a number of reasons. Child, that is sad.

Similar issues here. Seems when the temperatures soar, people forget common sense.

Enjoy it while it lasts. I see sunshine on these pretty flowers. It has a sad side but extreme weather usually does. Fine summer image. V.
