Problem with color?

Ventura, California

We went to the local farmers' market this morning spotted this sign where the description just didn't seem right. I don't know if "Norland Reds" are supposed to be red, but these were certainly far from it! Is there a problem with the taxonomy here?

The person who wrote the sign might be color blind? There are both white and yellow peppers along with green, red, orange, purple and chocolate colored peppers. Check the Gurney's seed catalog...LOL.

Very nice shot and catch, Dave. So maybe they see in IR (infrared)? LOL

They look like peppers, but "Reds" doesn't seem to describe them very well. Pretty though.
