The old Statue of Liberty torch was on display back in June 1987 in the lower part when I was there with my older son and his 5th grade class. This is one of the photos I had taken that day. The statue had been renovated and received a different torch during its renovation then. The elementary school that my son went to was one of the fund raisers for same.
