The Lone Pelican

Bonnet Carre' Spillway, Louisiana

The rest of the white pelicans left Louisiana in March. This one must have been injured and could not fly or maybe it just liked us. He/she is currently living in the overflow of the Mississippi River in the Bonnet Carre' Spillway.

Nice image of this loner... I kept hoping our Pelicans would put in an appearance at the Refuge, but they seem to have bypassed us this year...
