The film follows Josh Arnold (Thomas), whose family relocates to Corazon Sagrado, New Mexico during World War II.
The title of the book/film comes from a line in an ancient mariner's rhyme, "Red sky at morning, sailor take warning".
The film won Arnaz a "Most Promising Newcomer" Golden Globe award in 1972.

If it is red like that here it means we are still not going to get rain. All the weather rules from NZ don't apply here. Love this image so much.
