A particularly nice way to approach Rüdesheim is aboard the white ships travelling along the Rhine River past 1000-year-old Brömserburg Castle, the oldest castle located directly beside the Middle Rhine – and the Ruins of Ehrenfels Castle situated amidst vineyards high above the Rhine which bears witness to a varied history at the gate to the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. The landing stage at the promenade of Rüdesheim is only a stone’s throw away from the narrow streets of the historic centre, where visitors can explore authentic Straußwirtschaften, unusual restaurants, small wine-growing estates, lovingly restored half-timbered houses and magnificent noble courts.
