In the interests of balanced reporting !
Another image from the Zenobia on the same 120 roll as the cobbled street, but
this one highlights the 'weakness' of the lens at full aperture of ƒ3.5 (and
handheld at 1/50). No face saving depth of focus at ƒ3.5. Nice bokeh, though.
The helical focus 'guesstimate' was probably 6 inches off, to the front, but the
subject was also an old brass drinking water fountain with many edges worn
soft over the decades, in fairly deep shade, so it was also a test for the lens
in other ways. Nevertheless, I like the 'patina' of this image, however it
was produced. At ƒ8 and on a tripod, it would be sharp, but then the
background would be intrusive.
There's always somethin'.
Soft, yes. But I don't feel it is a bad thing. Do you?
