Cefalù on the Tyrrhenian Sea is dominated by La Rocca with a fine cathedral that is one of Sicily’s major Norman monuments built by Roger II between 1131 and 1240 as an act of thanks to God after surviving a shipwreck nearby.
The Bell family washed up (nice to have the kids still in tow at the age of 18 and 21 - I know its a free holiday for them!) for a weeks holiday and enjoyed some fine food and wine, trips and glorious weather in a very special town. I confess to not building any monuments (other than working on building up my belly) in that time:-)
