One day we decided to rent bikes and ride along the East Coast. Beibin Seashore Park, Nanbin Seashore Park and Meilun Seashore Park are scenic areas of palm trees and landscaped greenery that run the full length of the city's shore. The views over the Pacific Ocean are especially spectacular at sunrise. They left out the part where this scenic trail takes you through landfills and industrial wasteland.
Our daughter was our interpreter. She made all the arrangements. We had forgotten to bring sun tan lotion. Who needs it in February anyway. At the end of the 8 mile trip we could not find the bike rental place to drop our bikes off. Luckily we saw other bikers with the same rental plaques on their bikes and they pointed us to the drop-off place. The employees there did not want to accept our bikes for some unexplained reason, but we just left them there. New Years was approaching and shops and stores wanted to close. We were eager to get on the bus back to our hotel. My face and neck were beet red due to a nice sunburn.
