We took one trip to Taiwan/Hong Kong in February 2005. One of the highlights of the journey was a two day visit to the East coast of Taiwan. We staid in a town called Hualien City. From there we travelled by bus one day, and by taxi the second day to the amazing Taroko Gorge. Taking a taxi for 3 or 4 people is a better option than taking a bus, because you have more chances to stop and pick what you want to see. We were very impressed by the enormous dimensions of the gorge and the abundance of marble.
