Sea-lion and Lava

Fernandina Island, Galapagos Group

THe lava has flowed to the water's edge. The liquid rock dries in patterns, some which resemble toffee or batter being beaten, but rather than being at all smooth is pitted and jagged.
This is not a huge sea-lion as might be found on CAnada's west coast, but doesn't have the larger ears which a seal would have. The fils are rope lava, aptly named, I think.
