Green Heron

Around here, we see Great Blue Herons. They even have a nesting tree at Alton Baker Park. But when it comes to Green Herons, I have seen few of them. This is one I saw at Delta ponds. They seem much smaller than the Great Blue.

Very cool shot - I rarely see these as well but when I do I am always struck by the fact it looks like the wrong neck on the bird. It just doesn't match!

I have only seen two Green Herons. They are much smaller than a Great Blue. Very nice shot.
