Poison ivy (Toxicodendron rydbergii)

"Leaves of three, let it be", is the mantra for recognizing poison ivy. Of course, many other plants have similar leaves. Here is a nice, healthy patch of poison ivy! I used to be immune to the toxins secreted by this plant, but a couple of years ago came down with a severe case of infection. I'm now less likely to go tromping through the poison ivy!

I know this one from experience. Yet, I still get it every year no matter how I try to avoid it. Very nice capture of these shiny itch producing leaves. V.

It looks so lovely, you wouldn't know it could be so dangerous!
