White-tailed deer fawn

I was doing some inventory work today, out in a marshy area, when I nearly stepped on this tiny fawn, curled up in a depression in the marsh. It was a damp area, but not far from trees where I'd earlier seen an adult deer, a doe. I was beside myself with joy at seeing this adorable creature. I took a few photos and then left. It is an exquisite little animal!!!

Somehow I missed this fawn. How sweet and what a memorable find for you! I helped raise a fawn that had been hit by a mower. She was brought in to the equine veterinarian I worked for when I was in college. Her name was Pamela and what a sweetheart she was! BV

WOW - how wonderful. I love this shot - it's beautiful! I love finding these sweet babies - I usually get a few shots and then just sit and watch them. The ones in our State Park are some what tame and would almost eat out of your hand. BV
