Flooding - kleivis
by kleivis

We went right from winter to summer in almost a weekend. Snow melting and higher temperatures caused a lot of flooding in southern parts of the country. This picture is just a mere waterfall, no damage is done in this place. But still, a lot more water than usual.

Thanks for comments! and you're right, it's not BW. A bit underexposed, 1/1000s would probably been more accurate. The reflective light from waterdrops probably fools the meeter. Put one in orig from a bit further away so you can see the dimensions and this is 1/3200s as well.

You know, at a closer look, I think I can see touches of green on the upper left and in that pine up front. Also a bit of brown on some of the rocks. So, I guess b&w conversion wasn't even involved! Which is pretty cool!

I really like this shot Trond! I like your choice to go B&W too. Did you have to use a polarization filter in this shot? The white water is such a contrast to black rocks I was just wondering. You really captured the power of these falls. The rush of spring that turns our streams into rushing rivers is wonderful nature! When the levels fall, can you sit on the rocks around the falls?

Waterfalls are one of my favorite subjects and this one is full of power. At first I thought it was B&W but it appears to have color in the upper corners of the shot and on the rocks. Wonderful!

Nature's extremes are often just overwhelming. This is beautifully captured and the B&W enhances the movement and sheer volume of the water. Wow. That having been said, we are under a rainfall warning here at the moment.

Wow, the power of Nature is so in-your-face, while her subtlety (like a budding tree) is so often overlooked. Just glorious, Trond. --Stefan
