This is a wee bit closer look at the drum. I stopped often to clean the file with the file card and to let the file cool down. It does get HOT.

I'll need to reverse the motor direction - it's turning OK to file down the drum as it sits right now, but it needs to spin in the other direction to function as a drum sander properly. Yes, I did wire it incorrectly for what I need, so I decided to file from the back today rather than reverse the wires right away ;-)

I may have to add some shims under the pillow block bearings as they may not be high enough. I could also take a wee bit off the top of the box. I'll have to wait to see just how I feel about it tomorrow ;-) Other than that, all is going well.
