We got a new toy today. Our G11 pooped out Monday. Ginny likes to use the G11 on our trips. We are leaving for Spain and Portugal for a month next week. We needed a camera. I immediately went to the B&H web site and ordered a camera and spare battery. The camera happened to be the G15. I have been reading about this particular camera for a while. It looked pretty good as a replacement for the G11. Anyway, it arrived late today and I couldn't wait to get it out of the box. A few first impressions. It is smaller and lighter than the G11. It doesn't have an articulating screen. It has a much faster focus than the G11 (that was something that Ginny didn't like about the G11). It has controls similar to the G1-X. It feels good in the hand. It looks pretty cool. It looks like you could run over it with a truck and still take photos. All in all, first impressions very positive. I am thinking I would rather have the G15 than the G1-X.
