First Fox Sparrow at my home. I observed it 4 times over an 11 day period. Never got the shot I wanted, perched on a branch or even out in the light. It was very secretive, only came out for a minute or so at a time, and only a couple times a day.

Its behavior was very different than the 3 other Sparrow species hanging around during that time. It clung to the deep shadows down sun of a boxwood bush. It appeared out of nowhere and dissapeared into nowhere, except one time when I saw it fly into a nearby ornamental cedar.

Next to the Song and White-throated Sparrows scratching around for ground seed I disbursed each morning, the Fox was noticeably chunkier. And it dwarfed the Chipping Sparrows that showed up around the time it apparently left. But all the other sparrows dwarf the Chippers.
