I was just wandering around today not looking for anything in particular when I heard this Carolina Wren singing in the distance. On the scale of loud bird calls the Carolina Wren must be near the top of the list. I could hear him from quite a distance, loud and clear and over other singing birds that were closer including a my first Song Sparrow of the year. I went looking to see if I could get a shot of the Carolina Wren and I was surprised that he just sat there in the open, his feathers being ruffled up by the strong winds today, when I came around.
