Pineapple-weed is a very common summer or winter annual broad-leaf plant. It is found throughout California, except in the Great Basin and deserts, to 7900 feet (2400 m). Pineapple-weed inhabits agricultural land, turf, and other disturbed areas. When crushed, the leaves and flower heads smell similar to pineapple.
