Back in Time

There's a real move towards all things vintage at the moment.
Perhaps its a longing for when times were better (although I bet they weren't) or maybe it's simply a way of getting people to part with their money, either buying replica vintage items or the real thing.
Whatever the reason, it suits me. I live in an old house with lots of vintage bits and pieces which have been handed down.
This old postcards hark back to an Ireland which has disappeared.

Beautiful and I agree...things may have SEEMED better but there were different problems back then. My saying is that there are just different weeds.

I think it was a simpler time, for sure. We all need to get outdoors and away from our electronics!

Oh, I love this display. I have some old postcards, I should do something like this.

Things may not have been better but people were happier and content with their lot. I love your vintage postcards and the rack they are on.

It looks so idyllic, but if you could ask them whether they would live then or now, i've little doubt what the answer would be.

Not the bottom one I suspect; that's pretty much timeless but granted I doubt that there are many spinning wheels around. Although if the GFC continues...
As for the times time being better back then, Owen Wilson covered that one pretty well in Midnight In Paris so I think you're on the money with that one.
The frame has an olden style that matches the postcards very well. So do the mouldings on the wooden wall come to that.

This is beautiful. I admit to being a big fan of all things old and nostalgic. V

Beautifully composed, Margaret, and I like the soft colors. Ireland looks quite lovely in the postcards. I bet it still is! V.
