C2012/S1 ISON in Auriga, on March 23 8:43pm PDT (March 24, 03:43UT). The comet is near the center of
the frame with a short tail visible. The bright star to lower right is TYC 2435-167-1 (visual
magnitude of 9.73). Imaged with CCD Lab’s Q285M camera and a Celestron EdgeHD 9.25 at f10, on a
Losmandy G11/Gemini mount. The field of view is approximately 13 x 10 arc minutes. The L subframes
were 3 minutes for a total of 57 minutes total exposure (from 8:43pm to 9:40pm). Captured with
Nebulosity, calibrated and sigma combined in Iris with other processing using PixInsight LE and
Photoshop CS. North is up.
